The company, originally called Lawrence De Gruchy (Agricultural) Ltd, was established by Lawrence De Gruchy in 1973 when he took over his father’s cycle shop business.  Lawrence came from an agricultural merchant background and decided to continue serving in this field as well as keeping the cycle shop open.

Initially supplying and servicing milking machines and other small farming machinery, this developed into fencing and agricultural irrigation.  When Lawrence retired over 20 years ago his daughter Fay and son-in-law Eric took over the two businesses.  The company name was changed in 2014 to Lawrence de Gruchy (Irrigation) Ltd to better reflect the nature of the business.

More recently one of Eric’s sons, Carl, has joined the business as the third generation.

Lawrence and the family are proud with the way his venture has expanded and evolved since those early days when he was supplying the requirements of a developing farming industry in the island.

We now concentrate solely on all aspects of irrigation – pumps, water storage and any other garden water related projects.  Any application to do with irrigation is our specialty from irrigating a garden centre, sports facility, formal gardens at business premises or domestic gardens.
